About：I’m a designer from China. In my early career, I specialized in web design. However, I eventually grew disillusioned with the industry.
My frustration stemmed from a dysfunctional system in China: In major cities, design agencies prioritized sheer efficiency over quality. In smaller communities, there was a prevalent public mindset that design and software should be free—only hardware was worth paying for. People were often willing to spend significant time leveraging personal connections to find free design favors rather than pay a professional a modest fee.
This systemic issue was compounded by a broader lack of respect for technical services. Moreover, the low aesthetic standards of many clients, who often tried to impose misguided ideas on the creative process, made the work deeply frustrating.
I made the tough decision to walk away from years of experience and pivot to retail tea sales. Fortunately, my background in design proved invaluable in running my tea business. Over time, filming tea also ignited a passion for videography.
